The newservice delivered by the Ministry of Health and Social Services: TB Preventative Therapy (TPT) offers HIV positive people a means to avoid also contracting TB. This is important because HIV/TB coinfection is a significant public health challenge in Namibia and a risk for the individual. The TCE field officers are assisting the people enrolled in this program to complete the 12 weeks of medication without fail and this worked with a 100% success rate in 2021. So far, the programme has reached people in Oshana, Omusati, Zambezi and Kavango West regions and is expected to be rolled out to more regions in the future.
