DAPP Namibia, with support from Czech Aid, started a community garden with neighbours around the DAPP Centre at Ombalantu. The support included fencing one hectare, building two latrines, installing a water tank with piping and taps, as well as establishing a nursery to produce seedlings for continuous tree planting both in the community garden and at homesteads. 40 community members joined; each was allocated a seed bed, and another area was designated for shared crop production. Local traditional leaders provided valuable support to the project and helped guide its sustainability.
