ADSWAC Namibia is training activity team members from the Kavango East and Kavango West regions to support communities in developing Community Adaptation Action Plans.
The training took place in Rundu from 26 to 30 October 2026 and was facilitated by an independent consultant. It focuses on climate risk assessment, community participation, gender inclusion, environmental safeguards, and developing practical adaptation actions.
Following the training, the teams will work with communities to develop 40 Community Adaptation Action Plans: 20 in Kavango East and 20 in Kavango West.
Each plan will identify local climate risks and practical actions related to climate-resilient agriculture, water management, food security, land restoration, and environmental protection. Women, youth, older persons, and vulnerable households will be actively involved in the planning process.
Through these community-led plans, ADSWAC Namibia is strengthening local capacity and supporting communities to build resilience to climate change.
